With January far behind us and February almost over, it’s finally time to welcome some (slightly) warmer weather! Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes the promise of sunnier days, brighter evenings and a whole new attitude!
In today’s post, we’re shining the spotlight on some much-loved spring hairstyles - taking a look at some of the best dos for the new season and helping you finally say: “goodbye winter blues”.

What could possibly welcome spring more effectively than the addition of some highlights to your luscious locks? Whether you’re already a blonde and want to lighten up your hair or your hair is darker and you’re keen to add a splash of sunshine, highlights are the perfect way to wave goodbye to the colder months and get ready for the sunshine (at least that’s what we’re hoping for!) ahead. If you’ve never had highlights before, why not start off with a few and ask your hairdresser to add more over time, as you feel more comfortable? They’ll be happy to advise you on how regularly to have them topped up, so you needn’t worry about protecting your hair.
The pixie crop has been a controversial hairstyle over the years, with some people loving it, and others saying it’s not for them. With beauties like Michelle Williams and Emma Watson rocking this look, it’s a firm favourite of ours! If you’re nervous about making the transition to such a short hairstyle, why not do it in stages? Find a hairdresser you trust and start with just trimming away a couple of inches. This will give you time to get used to a new look and help you feel more confident to go the whole way. Any great hairdresser will understand how much of a big deal this is, so don’t be afraid to talk about any concerns so that they can guide you through and give you the reassurance you need to embrace a new you this spring.
Been fancying a fringe but not yet dared to take the plunge? Why not ask your hairdresser to cut in a loose flowing fringe that starts further back? This way, you’ll have plenty of hair to bring forward and sweep across your face, and you can have a shorter fringe cut in further down the line once you’re used to it. If you experimented with a fringe for the autumn/winter months, now’s the perfect time to let it flow freely as it grows out – allowing you to try different hairstyles by pinning your fringe in a variety of ways to create unique looks.
For an effortlessly chic look, you can’t go wrong with a bob of any length – but with spring fast approaching, a little extra length means you have plenty to work with when it comes to those all-important hairstyles for wedding season. Whether it’s straight and sleek, curly and classy, or down or up-dos, you can achieve a wide range of finishes with this simple yet timelessly classic hairstyle – and you can have your hairdresser help you decide the best length for your face shape.
There are few styles that combine beauty with ease as well as waves. For some of you, you’re blessed with naturally wavy hair – so embracing this spring style is as easy as towel drying your hair after a shower and voila! You’re good to go. For those of us who have stick straight hair that was the envy of our friends when straighteners first hit the high street, it’ll require a little more work – though not much! Ask your hairdresser for some recommendations of sprays and mousses and use these whenever you use heated rollers or straighteners to add curls to your hair. Gently brush them out so they fall loosely and give them a spritz with some hairdresser-recommended hairspray that will help them stay in place without leaving your hair in a sticky, straw-like state.
